Matteo will join the 7th Annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days
‘Together with a diverse group of Honorary Committee artists, we celebrate and support the Foundation’s mission of using the power of music to promote cross-cultural understanding and remind people of all cultures and religions that we share a common humanity.’ – R.E.M.
Following Daniel Pearl World Music Day Honorary Committee official invitation, Matteo is truly honored to announce his participation in the 7thAnnual Daniel Pearl World Music Days (October 1st -31st) and share in the vision of using music to both transcend differences and inspire unity.
Matteo will join artists like Herbie Hancock, Itzhak Perlman, R.E.M., Elton John, Zubin Mehta, Barbra Streisand, John Williams and thousands of others from all over the world, in remembering him in this way by continuing his legacy of using music to exalt a borderless humanity. We believe that responding to a tragedy in such a positive way conveys a vital message to our conflict-ridden world.
Daniel Pearl was murdered in 2002, shortly after 9/11, by extremists in Pakistan; he was the Wall St. Journal South Asia Bureau Chief and an accomplished musician (classical, bluegrass fiddle, mandolin and jazz violin) who used his music to spread friendship across cultural divides. World Music Days commemorates his October 10 birthday in a united stand against the culture of violence, a global network of concerts using the universal language of music to unite audiences everywhere in “Harmony for Humanity.”
Inspired by the legacy of journalist and musician Daniel Pearl, World Music Days uses the universal language of music to spread a message of hope and unity across cultural divides.
Matteo Brancaleoni, will dedicate to Daniel Pearl his concert on October 23rd in Campione Casino’ Theatre. (www.nuovocasinodicampione.it)
